I wasn’t going to enter the challenge this week as I didn’t think I had any pics that fit. My next post was going to be pics and memories of Nathan but, at our family BBQ today (to remember Nathan on the 1 yr anniversary of his death), my Grandma wore blue. Now, I have to say that if my Grandma knew that all the pics I was taking were of her AND the kitten and not JUST the kitten she would probably scold me, if she knew I was posting them here she would REALLY scold me! :o) She has always hated having her pics taken. My Grandma has been having a lot of health problems lately, so I want to be sure to get pics for my kids. One of the things that I have learned, and am working on, in the year since my brother’s death (at 18 in a car accident) is the importance of being bold with my camera and taking pics even if the subjects aren’t overly impressed (I come from a family of camera shy people). I wish I had more of Nathan……. he wasn’t camera shy and LOVED all things photography related so I could have, I just didn’t think about it. Anyhow, all that to say, this is my sweet Grandma sneaking in time with a kitten. She LOVES cats but is allergic to them…….

Oh my goodness. Tears... What a wonderful wonderful shot. I truly love it.

ReplyDeleteLove this photo - that kitten looks so happy to be there. :)
ReplyDeleteand thanks for sharing that about your brother. Lots of photo shy people in my family too. But something like that really puts things in perspective.
Such a precious capture and the story behind it all with the loss of Nathan...my heart goes out to you and your family. Your recent post about Nathan, David, our dreams and God's plans was beautiful. I was encouraged to see how you continue to glorify Him even in the midst of trials, pain, and loss. I pray you and your family will continue to find peace, comfort, strength, and hope in the only One who can give that to us...and may others be encourage by you as well. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteAwww what a beautiful shot! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThat's a really gorgeous picture. I'm glad you got this of your Grandmother... she sounds like my mom, my mom HATES having her picture taken, but I do it anyways because I don't have any pictures of my grandmothers, and I want my kids to have some of theirs. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job!

ReplyDeleteWhat a heartfelt post...great capture of Grandma. I'm sure if she knew the meaning behind the post, she wouldn't scold you ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot (as is the last one of Nathan in the subsequent post) - and the inspiration behind it. I am so 'got at' by this post! I HATE having my photo taken, because I hate what I see, but sometimes it not about us, but about those we will one day leave behind. It's a lovely shot of you Grandma, and tells something of her personality that she is doing something, even though she knows she oughtn't!! :D
ReplyDeleteWow, this shot is amazing!! It is very poignant and heart felt. Thanks for your sweet comment on my photo. Please come back to my blog anytime! I love meeting fellow Christian women!
