Here is the original:
First glance, I thought "easy!", I was wrong! There is a green line in her hair and on her forehead which I found distracting.
This is my color edit:
I lightened shadows, removed the green line, played with color, added a soft light layer, and ???
Here is my cropped version of the same edit:
and Sepia:
And here I tried something completely new.... I did a texture and "photocorners":
I used a layermask technique, that I learned on a tutorial somewhere, and masked out her face (she is way too young for wrinkles! ;o) and lightened the texture around her face. I'm still not sure what I think of it but it was fun to try something new! :o)

Well, I got rather carried away with my edits this week... I was trying to get rid of the shaft of light but, though I used every trick up my sleeves, I wasn't able to. I had fun trying though!!! Now, I am off to I ♥ Faces to see the other edits! Have a great weekend!

What fun edits. I love your different black and whites.
ReplyDeleteRegarding my template, I just altered the minima template to the width of my liking. It's usually pretty easy. You go to Customize --- Choose the Layout TAB > Edit HTML and you search for widths and change them to your liking, making sure that the totals of the inner section (left and right) total the big section. So on mine I changed my:
#header-wrapper {
width:960px;
It was something like 760px before.
Also changed
#outer-wrapper {
width: 960px;
Also changed
#main-wrapper {
width: 710px;
(This was like 510 before. This is the section that has your text in it.)
Also changed
#sidebar-wrapper {
width: 220px;
You might want to make this one skinnier.
The only thing I'm not sure about because your setup pulls from someone else's page for the template (the background image), is whether those elements are flexible and would conform to the changes or not. Sometimes the images that make up your background are setup to be flexible (that is they are small elements that repeat), but sometimes they aren't flexible. If you felt up to playing around. Just copy that template with a text editor and save it before you change anything - so that you can revert back to the old template, if it doesn't work.
