Fall Flowers

   Last fall we were blessed to be able to milk goats twice a week for some friends. One morning while there I took my camera and played around in their garden.  There were still quite a few flowers in bloom and the lighting that morning was beautiful.  Here is a small sampling of those pictures.

I believe these were some of the first pics I took with my new Macro lens.  I love my Macro lens. 

  I believe this first one is an artichoke. It was all dried out and I thought it made a very interesting subject with it’s unique textures.

     We have now officially reached 20wks! 

Morning sickness *seems* to have finally ended…..       We are ready to tell the world that sweet kiddo #4 is joyfully baking and making itself known with delightful flutterings. :o)  

  The regularly scheduled program should resume soon….. ;o)

Installment #2

    I thought, for starters, I would bore you with my random pics….. Why, you ask? Well, probably because they are my least favorite and I think I will save my favorites for last.   These are, after all, random. Bits of this and that, experiments with various subjects to stretch myself, attempts to learn new “tricks”. My favorite subjects are my kids, Macro (flowers, foliage, bugs, etc…..), and animals.  I would love to do more people if I knew what I was doing……

  These first 2 pics were an experiment I did with shooting manual…… It was interesting but I don’t remember a thing I learned :oP  I had read a great article on manual settings and tried to put it to use. Would have been fabulous if I could have retained it! lol……  Reminds me of something a FB friend said the other day “Of all of things I have lost, I miss my mind the most!”  Lol, yep that’s me!!!

 This pic my hubby took of my eye. It wasn’t well focused so I played in my Photoshop Elements program to see if I could save it……Colors aren’t quite right but at least it is more focused. I should probably have done a before and after so you can see the wonder of PSE but I did not.  Kind of freaky isn’t it?

 Some of you might remember that I use to participate a lot in the challenges at the wonderful site  I♥Faces.  One of the challenges they did that I could not participate in because of my computer/internet issues was “Sun Flare”. They had a great tutorial on how to achieve it……. I followed their directions and this is one of my favorite shots.  Mr. Cool himself  :o)

I am hoping that this exercise in picture play will help me get through the time while my camera is in getting warranty work done. I mailed it yesterday and already miss it! I am hoping that all flowers will postpone their blooming until after I get it back!  They said 1to 8wks!  *SOB* I am hoping for 1! lol   Doesn’t hurt to wish, does it?

Following Through – First Installment :o)

 

  I thought for my first installment of pics. I would do 1 picture from each of the “categories” I have to update on. They will probably not be in chronological or any very organized order but will be more categorical…… We’ll see. I don’t really have a plan, just a desire to post pics. :o)

    I am pretty excited about this and hope that I am able to follow through….. I am so indecisive that it will take me awhile to narrow down my pics and choose which ones to publish.  I need a “Deleting Photos 101” class. I hate to delete pictures that are mediocre, esp of my kids, because then they are gone and well, “they aren’t *that* bad” :oP  I am hopeless. Lol…..

Plans

  One of the downsides of my time without my comp is that I couldn’t put pics on my comp and thus on my blog. Now that I have my comp back one of my goals is to put my hundreds of pics from their CDs onto my comp and sort them.  I will delete most but I would like to have some on here to play with and to post. So, my goal is to post pics from the last 5+ months on my blog. Hopefully I will have a new picture post every few days. We’ll see if everyone cooperates. :o)  The above pic I took in Nov of the last few blueberries on the bush.  I find that I am almost obsessed with getting good water drop pics, the intrigue me. :o)

Bloggers Block

 I keep pulling this screen up to write, often with heart and mind ready to spill over onto the screen, only to draw a complete blank when this screen pops up....... I tell you it must be FB!!!! LOL,  I told you that thing was wicked!  :o)  Addictively so........ :oP  

So in all randomness, here is the latest from our house.  I GOT COMPANY YESTERDAY!  :o) :o) :o)  My friend came over and visited and I had the best time. It was one of my not so good days and her visit just brightened my day like you wouldn't believe! Sigh, I LOVE talking with friends, you know the real, live, in person, grownup kind.   :o)   Now, you are probably laughing at me and saying something to the affect of  "You just like to talk. Period!" and I am afraid I would probably have to agree. :o) 

My sweet Hubby made me lunch today and it actually is setting well so I am feeling pretty sassy, at least for the minute. :o) 
 
 We say verses together in the eves and even LM is getting in on the action. He may not yet have reached 3 but he loves to get in on the action and often surprises me with how much of the verse he lisps out. Too cute! The girls used to know so many verses but we let that fall by the wayside with all of the craziness of the last 6 months and now we need a major refresher course. I need to sit down and try to remember all of them so that I can help them remember!  Right now we are just working on the verses that our church is memorizing together.  It has been great and saves me from having to decide what verse we are going to learn next! :o) 

My eldest is turning 7 this week..... Where has the time gone?!?!?!  I keep trying to get her to skip it this year so I can get used to the idea but she won't have anything to do with that idea! Silly girl :o)  She has big plans for her big day...... a trip to the salon to get her hair cut and her nails painted, a lunch date, and just fun in general. She has been counting down days for the last month!  I think the other 2 are already getting jealous of  her! lol....

My middlest is starting to gain more interest in school and actually wanting to do it more. She is so bright and picks up on things quickly. I wish I had been keeping up on her schooling better this yr. She could be so much farther ahead....... Well, that is past and it doesn't do any good to dwell on it.  She will catch up quickly and, I have to remind myself. She is only 5 :o)

  Well, I have worked through my bloggers block for one more post. Maybe that will help me get back on track.  :o)  Happy Thursday!!!!
